Gardon SmartThinks

An AI-powered smart garden IoT platform with mobile, web, backend, firmware, and local voice assistant layers.

Gardon SmartThinks is an archived AI-powered smart garden IoT ecosystem. It combines ESP32 firmware, an Express.js backend, a React web dashboard, an Expo React Native mobile app, MQTT event streaming, WebRTC calls, and a local LLM voice/chat assistant for smart garden monitoring and home automation.

Commercial Archive & Academic Support Notice: This project was once developed for commercial use, deployed for paying customers, and generated revenue for the team. Active commercial development and operations concluded about 1 year ago. It is no longer used for commercial operations; technologies, configurations, or dependencies may be outdated. Current maintenance is strictly for archiving, academic research, and community learning support.

Overview
Gardon was built as a production-grade IoT ecosystem for smart garden and home automation scenarios. It connected physical devices, dashboards, mobile control, and an AI assistant into one product system.
Problem
Smart garden and home automation systems often split hardware control, mobile experience, web configuration, and voice assistance into disconnected tools. The project needed a unified system that could monitor conditions, control devices, and respond to natural language commands.
Role
Founder / Product Builder / IoT Engineer
Approach
The architecture combined ESP32 firmware, MQTT communication, an Express backend, a Vite React dashboard, an Expo mobile app, WebRTC communication, and a local Ollama-based assistant with STT/TTS. The system supported real-time control, topic management, device metadata, and AI-assisted voice/chat flows.
Outcomes
Homes
deployed and used in residential households
IoT Stack
firmware, backend, web, mobile and AI layers
Local AI
voice/chat assistant for garden automation
